You will post this proposal to the discussion board, and then you will respond to at least two classmates, giving them clear and comprehensive feedback on their proposals. Most notably, you will want to pay attention to how you can help each other to narrow and focus your research questions. Do some revisions to your topic and point of view based on your classmates’ feedback and then email me to discuss questions you have about your topic and veiw point through email.

Research Proposal on Intergenerational Trauma
This research proposal will be based on the impact of intergenerational trauma on families and future generations. This topic is chosen to provide insight on the lasting affects of intergenerational trauma which happens in various places all over the world. I look forward to researching the importance of this topic to be able to evaluate and bring forth the issues and events that have caused havoc on families, and to address why it is important to heal from these detrimental inherited, deep-seeded factors to better improve the quality of life for our own families, our own relationships, our own world. The aim of this study is to ask ourselves; What is the impact of intergenerational trauma on our families, and how does it continue to affect our children, and children’s children?
The overall purpose of this research paper is to learn, understand, and answer questions through obtaining information from clinical expertise, studies, and data. In an effort to better understand the many factors of intergenerational trauma such as mental health; child abuse; poverty; substance abuse; domestic violence; and neglect (just to name a few), this research paper will also dive deep into the theory that epigenetics and patterns of inherited trauma can change the genetic code of offspring and descendants.
Additionally, there will be facts, and examples to answer questions such as; What are the impacts of intergenerational trauma? How is intergenerational trauma passed down from one generation to another? Why is intergenerational trauma a social problem? How does one heal from intergenerational trauma? How does one break intergenerational patterns, and reverse trauma-related epigenetics?
One undeniable fact of the matter is that intergenerational trauma does not discriminate, and it is pervasive throughout the world. My personal agenda is to find out how to stop this phenomenon in my own family by realizing and recognizing that even increased cautiousness, fear, and a conflicted sense of identity are just the tip of the iceberg as far as traits that I need to find how to combat. Awareness, courage, and determination to live a better life is the ultimate goal for everyone. Bringing these issues to the forefront will help people open their eyes and no longer be complacent of these toxic cycles.
The internet, documentaries, and the library will be the methods to obtain information for the researched argument essay. My research plan is to be organized and use different methods of collecting information, so that way I have sufficient information and data to be able to write an intro, background, body, review, researched paragraph, conclusion, and references. I plan to utilize journals, books, magazines, reports, and articles as sources for my paper

After looking through the lists of topics and brainstorming, I have decided that my research topic will be social media and the future of society. I chose this topic because in today’s society social media has a huge role in everything and its impact has been huge in the past couple of years. I’ve realized that a lot of my friends and family are highly addicted to social media, which in my view isn’t a good thing. This topic interests me because I’m part of the generation that is highly addicted to social media and our “social status†seems to be a worrying thing in today’s time. It also interests me because I was a victim of addiction to social media and I was always worried about likes or showing people my life behind a screen. I want to learn and research about more about social media in our society. I’m aiming to research the data on how it is affects our mental health and our actual connections we have in real life. I think this topic is important because everyone has social media. After covid hit that’s the only life a lot of people could live. Learning about the effects of it can be eye-opening. In my opinion, I feel like our society is losing touch in human interaction because it’s so easy to access social media and have a life behind a screen. Is social media impacting our mental health and society in a negative way?
Points of view
-People that think social media has no impact on our mental health
-People that do
-People that disagree and think social media is moving society in a positive direction
– Older generation
I don’t know a whole lot about social media and the future of society but I do know it has negative effects on mental health and other things. Social media is used to update people and socialize, with strangers and/or family, but some people can take it out of proportion.
Things to find out
I need to find out the impact on society and all of the effects social media has on our own lives.
I plan on researching most of the information, but I also want to sit down with family and friends and ask them my research question. Doing this will help me build agreements to the arguments but also counterarguments. I plan on using reliable sources such as news articles, websites, journals. Also, if I have any books that relate to this topic, I would like to read them and use the information I find.
